Who we are

TapCheck CA is a consumer water-quality report demo for California ZIP codes. Contact (placeholder): Contact email.

What we collect

• Help requests: name, phone, email, ZIP, optional notes, optional audience poll, and report context (utility name, PWSID, match confidence) when submitted from a report page.
• Technical: standard server logs (IP, user agent) may be collected by the host in production; the local MVP mainly stores form JSON on disk.
• ZIP searches: may be logged in future versions for coverage analytics.

How we use it

We use help-request information to connect you with a local filtration partner (licensed plumbing / filtration installer) who may contact you about options. We do not sell personal information to unrelated data brokers in this product design.

Sharing

When you request local help, we may share your submission with a filtration partner covering your area. Partners are independent businesses. We do not post plumber pricing on this consumer site.

California privacy rights (summary stub)

If we operate as a “business” under the CCPA/CPRA, California residents may have rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of certain sharing/selling of personal information. This stub does not create those obligations for the local demo. Production will publish a real “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” mechanism if required.

Storage (demo)

On the local MVP server, submissions are appended to JSON files on disk (including a shared inbox used only for product demos). Production will use a secured database, access controls, and retention limits.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 for certain CA rights). We do not knowingly collect children’s data.
